Mothers’ Milk Bank Southeast is proud to partner with FLOW | Tennessee’s Center for Breastfeeding Medicine and its collaborating hospital partners in the Knoxville area to increase access to safe, pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM). The Donor Milk to Go Program offers a simple, reliable way for families to obtain up to 10 bottles per baby of screened, pasteurized donor human milk directly through the clinic's designated distribution site.

Why is there a processing fee?
There are significant costs associated with the screening and processing necessary for the medically fragile infants that we serve. The processing fee covers the cost of donor screening, nutritional analysis, pasteurization, microbiological testing, and storage. The processing fee is $14.95 per bottle (each bottle is 3.3 oz).
What if I cannot afford the processing fee?
The Rosie Fund helps ensure that families have equal access to safe, pasteurized donor human milk when financial barriers might otherwise prevent them from obtaining this vital nutrition after leaving the hospital. Assistance is provided on a sliding scale based on annual household income, and proof of income is required.
This financial assistance program was made possible thanks to a generous grant from the HARDY Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The Rosie Fund is named in honor of Michael and Caleigh Hardy’s daughter, Rosie.

Is donor milk safe?
The safety of each ounce of milk we dispense is always our top priority. Mothers' Milk Bank Southeast's commitment to the highest quality and safety of pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM) is demonstrated by our evidence-based standards for pasteurization and processing.

We employ the Holder pasteurization technique, which research indicates preserves a higher concentration of the protective immune factors found in human milk that are essential for infants.

Our microbiological sampling protocol involves randomly selecting a sample from each batch (after pasteurization), which is then sent to an independent, accredited third-party lab for bacteriological culture analysis prior to distribution.

We conduct nutritional analysis utilizing the Miris Analyzer which allows us to provide accurate nutritional content of each bottle of PDHM dispensed.

We are regulated and inspected as food manufacturers by the FDA and comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
