Mothers' Milk Bank Southeast is proud to serve hospitals and families throughout the Southeast. By partnering with generous milk donors, healthcare providers and community supporters, we help ensure that medically vulnerable babies have access to this evidence-based standard of care.

Hospitals

At Mothers’ Milk Bank Southeast, hospital requests always receive priority. We are committed to making sure pasteurized donor human milk reaches the babies who need it most—especially medically fragile and critically ill infants, who can experience the greatest impact from access to human milk.

We take this responsibility seriously and are proud to maintain a 100% fulfillment rate for hospital requests. By prioritizing hospital partners, we help ensure that vulnerable infants in neonatal and specialty care settings have access to donor milk when their own mother’s milk is not available or is not enough.

Donor Milk Beyond the Hospital

Outpatient Program

We also recognize that some babies may benefit from donor milk after leaving the hospital. ​​Through our Outpatient Program, eligible families can receive donor milk directly from Mothers’ Milk Bank Southeast through convenient shipping or pickup options.​

Donor Milk to Go

Donor Milk to Go is available through select distribution sites throughout our service area. Two of our locations are based within clinics, providing families with access to donor milk in an outpatient healthcare setting. Our other Donor Milk to Go locations are hospital-based and are designed to serve eligible patients at the time of hospital discharge.​

Is donor milk safe?

The safety of each ounce of milk we dispense is always our top priority. Our commitment to the highest quality and safety of pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM) is demonstrated by our evidence-based standards for pasteurization and processing.

  • We employ the Holder pasteurization technique, which research indicates preserves a higher concentration of the protective immune factors found in human milk that are essential for infants.

  • Our microbiological sampling protocol involves randomly selecting a sample from each batch (after pasteurization), which is then sent to an independent, accredited third-party lab for bacteriological culture analysis prior to distribution.

  • We conduct nutritional analysis utilizing the Miris Analyzer which allows us to provide accurate nutritional content of each bottle of PDHM dispensed.

  • We are regulated and inspected as food manufacturers by the FDA and comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
