For preterm, low-birthweight, and critically ill newborns pasteurized donor human milk reduces the risk of severe complications. Our rigorous safety protocols and consistent supply allow NICU clinical teams to rely on uninterrupted access to donor milk for high-priority infants.

Donor Milk to Go: Continuing Care Beyond Discharge
Our Donor Milk to Go program equips hospitals and clinics to offer short-term outpatient donor milk for families who need support at the time of discharge or in an outpatient setting. This program ensures a consistent feeding plan while maternal lactation is being established or stabilized. Mothers' Milk Bank Southeast provides hospitals with labeled, ready-to-dispense Donor Milk to Go units, along with clear educational materials for both staff and families.
Research shows that feeding premature infants an exclusive human milk diet reduces the risk of NEC by more than 50%, helping protect their fragile digestive systems and improve survival.
An exclusive human milk diet provides important health benefits for all infants, but for babies born prematurely, it can be lifesaving.
One of the greatest threats to premature infants is necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a devastating intestinal disease and the leading cause of death among preterm babies between two weeks and two months of age.
When a mother's own milk is unavailable or insufficient, pasteurized donor human milk is the only evidence-based alternative shown to provide this protective benefit. Ensuring access to donor milk is an essential component of high-quality neonatal intensive care and gives vulnerable babies the healthiest possible start.
Commitment to Safety
Comprehensive Donor Screening: All milk donors are thoroughly screened through interviews, blood testing, and medical history review in accordance with the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) standards.
Safe Handling and Pasteurization: Donor milk is processed using the Holder Method of pasteurization to eliminate pathogens while preserving key nutritional and immunological components.
Microbiological Testing: Each batch of pasteurized milk undergoes rigorous microbiological testing. Only milk that meets the highest safety thresholds is dispensed.
Nutritional Analysis: We conduct nutritional analysis utilizing the Miris™ Analyzer which allows us to provide accurate nutritional content of each bottle of PDHM dispensed.
Traceability: We utilize Timeless Medical Systems®, a digital compliance and operations platform. Each bottle of PDHM dispensed includes a barcode that allows hospitals to scan critical data securely.

How to Place An Order:

Please place orders two days in advance of your desired delivery when possible.

Orders are accepted Monday through Thursday.

Orders received by Noon (CST) will be shipped for next day delivery.

While we always do our best to help, we cannot guarantee expedited delivery if orders are submitted after Noon (CST).
