New Name. Same Mission. Greater Impact.

For more than four years, Mothers’ Milk Bank Southeast has proudly served families and hospitals across Tennessee with one simple mission: to provide safe pasteurized donor human milk to the most vulnerable babies.

What began as a statewide effort has grown into something much larger.

Today, we partner with hospitals across multiple states, support outpatient families throughout the region, and continue expanding our network of milk drop depots and milk donors beyond Tennessee borders. As our impact has grown, we realized our name needed to grow with us.

That is why Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee is now Mothers’ Milk Bank Southeast.

Why the Change?

Families in the Southeast often cross state lines for specialized medical care, especially when babies require NICU services. Donor milk access should not stop at a state border. Our new name reflects the regional community we already serve and our vision for the future.

This change allows us to:

• Better represent the families and hospitals we serve throughout the Southeast

• Expand donor outreach and milk collection efforts across neighboring states that do not have a HMBANA accredited milk bank

• Increase awareness of the lifesaving importance of pasteurized donor human milk

• Build partnerships with healthcare systems and communities across the region

• Create a more inclusive identity for future growth

While our name is changing, our mission is not.

What Is Staying the Same

We are still the same nonprofit organization with the same leadership and commitment to safety, compassion, and equitable access to donor milk.

We also remain deeply rooted in Tennessee.

A Name That Reflects Our Future

The word “Southeast” represents more than geography. It represents connection.

It reflects the mothers who donate selflessly, the babies whose lives are strengthened through donor milk, the healthcare providers who champion better outcomes, and the communities that believe every baby deserves the healthiest possible start.

As we continue to grow, our goal remains clear: to make pasteurized donor human milk more accessible to every baby who needs it throughout the Southeast.

We are incredibly grateful to our donors, hospital partners, volunteers, advocates, and supporters who helped us grow from a statewide organization into a regional resource for families and NICUs.
